Knitcrate!

Last month I signed up for Knitcrate's indie subscription with a 10 mini add-on , and since I am so impatient, of course I had to have the catch up box. When I received my first little red bag of magical yarn goodness, I was in love. Although the colors I received weren't the ones I hoped for, I was pleasantly surprised! Also, since I was so late in subscribing I was only able to get the advanced/intermediate package for May since the Indie was sold out. My box came with a wonderful pattern and three skeins of kollage riveting sport yarn, which is made of recycled blue jeans yay! Two of a main color (night) and one contrasting color (lava) which were both a lovely reminder of that favorite pair of jeans. You know the one that you've worn so many times that the color is faded out, but you just can't bear to let them go because they just feel so good. At this point I'm feeling like this has been my best monitory investment this year!! It's a mist have for any fiber lover.

Chocolate mud pie

I cannot contain my enthusiasm. After spending one incredible weekend at the first annual magnolia fiber fest learning to spin with the most basic of materials, tat, and my most precious endeavor KNITTING WITH BEADS! I have added beads to my never ending stash of yarn, hooks, needles, my current favorite is the chocolate mud pie mix!!!

Slippers

Ok so recently I have gone on this slipper and granny square craze. You must forgive me my obsession takes me on many paths and most of the time before I even finish the one I was on first. Well this month it is slippers. Oh and the art of paper making, but that is in another post to come. I've been overwhelmed by the positive feedback I've been getting from them. I created them from the pattern of the whit's granny square slippers and added my own twist by using non traditional motifs.

First Knitted Piece

I am extremely proud of myself today because I have finally conquered my knitting fears and cranked out an actual scarf :) It is made from the most amazing yarn by malabrigo Rasta archangel. BEAUTIFUL!! I just fell completely in love with it as soon as I saw it in my lys.

Excitement

I have offically become crochet obsessed all over again. After discovering new books and yarns I cannot wait to begin my newest journey of creating. Also i recently joined the world of the KNITTERS!!! I have fallen in love with the needles as deeply as I have with the hooks. Cant wait until I can debut my knitted projects!

Misery

I've recently begun to think about the way I have been stifling my creativity by trying to create for sale. I have found that I am happiest when I just creating new things and trying out new and challenging patterns. I decided to create more for customers as a enhancement of my income but it is making me miserable. The timeline and the worry of getting it done in a certain time frame is becoming too much. I believe that once i finish the last two projects I am done with the crochet for hire lol.

Mandala Tote

So excited!! Just finished my first Mandala tote. A little project that was inspired by the mandala square from the blog of Alice Best.  Her designs are great and the colors are amazing!. I love the brights and the way she blends them all in. So far I have created two things from her mandala pattern, and I cannot wait to do more.
